Half Term One
CREATE - Context
Baseline evaluation of students starting points. Responsible design and product lifecycles – Focus mobile phones.
Half Term Three
CREATE - Explore
Workshop passport – recycled mobile phone stand keyring. To gain experience of using three different materials and associated processes
Half Term Five
CREATE – Trial and Evaluate
Students will complete a bridge project looking at existing designs then constructing them using CAD. Then testing them virtually and in classroom models to evaluate their effectiveness. Ending in a range of STEM challenges to practice all their skills across the year collaboratively
Half Term Two
CREATE - Research
Packaging and Nets focus on drawing accurately and graphical design and construction of nets to create an ethical packaging product
Half Term Four
CREATE – Assemble Alessi
Product analysis of existing designs and design movement of post modernism. Students summarise design style and then apply this to their own product and model it in cardboard
Half Term Six
CREATE – Trial and Evaluate
Students will complete a bridge project looking at existing designs then constructing them using CAD. Then testing them virtually and in classroom models to evaluate their effectiveness. Ending in a range of STEM challenges to practice all their skills across the year collaboratively
