As part of their tutorial programme, Year 9 have been taking part in The Pallet Challenge.  Each group was given a pallet, that had been used to deliver goods to school, which they had to transform into something that would benefit the school environment in some way.  In order to buy for the materials needed to bring their designs to life, each group organised a fund-raising event; everything from guess the number of sweets in the jar to a cross-bar challenge.

We were very lucky to have an ‘expert’ judge, Neil from Pallet Inspiration, who came in to listen to the representatives from each group explain their ideas and then to choose a runner up and an overall winner.

The quality of the designs is testament to the creativity and dedication of our students.  There were some excellent ideas and it was really hard to choose between them.  I can’t wait to see what their next termly challenge is!
